Panda Relaxing in a Hotel (Original)

After sixteen wonderful days at sea, Panda finally arrived back in Los Angeles. The cruise was over, and while Panda was happy to be starting the journey home, she already missed life aboard the ship.

The day sounded simple enough on paper: dock in Los Angeles, rent a car, and drive to a hotel in Redondo Beach. In reality, it felt surprisingly exhausting. After more than two weeks on a cruise where transportation, meals, and daily plans were all taken care of, suddenly having to deal with luggage, rental cars, traffic, and logistics again felt like a lot of work.

When Panda finally arrived at the hotel, she was relieved to relax. The room was comfortable, quiet, and stationary—or at least it was supposed to be.

After sixteen days of constant motion at sea, Panda's sense of balance had other ideas. As she rested on the bed, it felt as though the entire room was rocking back and forth. The sensation was surprisingly strong, almost as if the hotel had secretly set sail and joined the cruise.

After some much-needed relaxation, it was time to visit the beach. Panda decided to stay behind at the hotel and continue resting while the others went exploring.

The next day would be the long drive home, and another chapter of the adventure would come to an end. Before that happened, however, Panda enjoyed one quiet evening in Redondo Beach, gently rocking aboard a hotel room that wasn't moving at all.
